Marin humanitarians hoof it for the hungry in San Rafael

Crop Hunger Walk is a national interfaith program sponsored by Church World Service.

Ruby Trainor, ten walked down 4th Street in city centre San Rafael on Sun hoisting that person homemade “Fill Empty Fridges” sign.

The San Anselmo resident was participating in the twentieth annual Marin Crop Hunger Walk. About 125 people showed up for the charity event, which was founded nationally about fourty years ago and is observed all over the country on different dates.

Crop Hunger Walk is a national interfaith program sponsored by Church World Service. According to the national organization’s website, the walks began in the United States around 1969 in Bismarck, N.D.
